Thread will be monitored and beef dealt with, this is a discussion and a Q&A thread.

Imperial is a server that has long been requested to make its return since its closure back around the end of 2021. The server is one that has many positives and some negatives that it could bring to the community, hence the need for this discussion. I am purely posting this as to see people's opinions on the server and to point out some key aspects that could work for MVG. Below I will start by posting the positives and negatives of the server (updated with people's feedback in replies) and follow-up with approved ideas.​

Positives:

- There are no current UK based Imperial servers with a large player-base.
- We are actively gaining new cadets on the server, often between 5-20 a day. This is a massive improvement from 2020-2023. There will be new players brought into the community who will try both.
- There are members of the community who already play on Imperial servers, this alone shows interest already.
- A chance for MVG to gain new funding, my idea for this is posted below.
- Loads of Imperial content being released since 2021/22 and the closure of Imperial.
- Server would likely contain content from: Rogue One, Bad Batch s1-3, Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Fallen Order, Jedi Survivor, Comics/books, Andor - roleplay possibilities and physical content.
- There are old players and vets who have said they would return for Imperial, however worth mentioning most of the people who ruined the previous versions of Imperial have been banned.
- New possibilities staff and IC for players.
- Clone Wars has had many recent events and storylines with dark twists or darker passive-rp moments, this server would allow for more of that which our player-base finds more fun.
- The server would be realistic/BF2 models due to the lack of CGI Imperial content, therefore allowing players to experience CGI and realism on both servers.
- New maps.
- New event ideas.
- A wide range of regimental possibilities. More opportunities staff and IC across both servers for players. Alternative event times to Clone Wars.
- Inquisitor spinny sabers
- More hyperspace roleplay possibilities for both Fleet and Engineers.


Negatives:

- Garry's Mod has dropped in terms of player count and will likely stick around the 32,000 mark until Summer.
- Old packages will not count towards the server and donations will be required again for roles. It is a personal choice if you wish to update but this helps our community grow.
- There is a chance of the community being split, but to an amount that would roughly be an estimated 60-70+ on each server
- Limited transfer possibilities to allow fairer opportunities for players. The only way to know is to try - if the server is a complete failure, it'll be taken down rather than left hanging like the last Imperial server.
- The command structure will be empty, and will need strict policies in place to avoid it being "lower quality" than CW.

NOTE: The screen shot above is roughly what we'd have to start with, this can change. If the server is able to grow in the future, we will increase the regiments and bring more innovative ideas further down the line. There may be a few changes to this as we go, such as the introduction of Grand Moff Tarkin etc.

Let us know your honest thoughts and comments below, state your opinions or give more ideas. Either way, this is something the Management Team are keen to do after some decisive talks behind the scenes.

I have many regiment ideas etc. which deadshot and rush and pals know but my ideas for Imperial Commandos are to have Imperial Commandos as like a whole special forces regiment/section, with the commando squads, inferno squadron and crosshair's elite squad. They'd have spec ops missions in most events like CW but obviously would be sent on darker missions. Purgetroopers would be a separate reg
 
would events be hosted at same time as main server or different times so people can swap between to play events on both

medic regiment pretty please so i can be real CO! (joke)
 
We have ideas but nothing is written in stone yet when it comes to the regiments. I will say though that anyone with a Veteran status on Imperial will be allowed to have it back.

The thought of ISB returning reminds me of power hungry players getting a boner to scream at players who made an about turn the wrong way. Personally think Generals and Navy would be a better mix. With Sith having PT or IC worked very well. Then again with this dark lore/edgy RP you seem to attract ppl who get drunk over power

ISB would be the equiv of Generals on the server (if going by my recommendations)
 
its mainly so we can have an excuse to throw in some higher ranking lore characters, i.e. equiv to supreme general would be krennic
 
Ah ok makes sense. Another thing you could look at is making a Bounty Hunters guild. Would be tricky however.

Just to reiterate Deadshot, nothing is set in stone. I'm just replying with my ideas (but not saying TOO much)...

Bounty Hunters would most certainly be a dono regiment with like 5-6 main character roles available for higherups with individual stats and loadouts, including Bossk, Dengar, Boba, IG-88, 4-LOM and Zuckuss (or something along those lines)

I developed one of the previous Imperial servers, one that seemed to be the most positive so I'm giving ideas as of now. Nothing else, nothing more.
 
Ah the OG. Well I’m down to give insight on what worked and didn’t work when I took over for a brief time.

One thing that really hurt the server was poor optimisation and constant attacks from backdoors. Was really annoying trying to solve it.

In character wise, regimental jobs and overlapping responsibilities of regiments also affected things greatly. So finding a perfect balance of lore and fun is something that people struggled with. I think if it’s reopened you need to change the formula from the old one a lot as people were resistant to change. If it opens in an ideal state then people can get used to the changes from the ground running. Good luckkkk
