Thread will be monitored and beef dealt with, this is a discussion and a Q&A thread.

Imperial is a server that has long been requested to make its return since its closure back around the end of 2021. The server is one that has many positives and some negatives that it could bring to the community, hence the need for this discussion. I am purely posting this as to see people's opinions on the server and to point out some key aspects that could work for MVG. Below I will start by posting the positives and negatives of the server (updated with people's feedback in replies) and follow-up with approved ideas.​

Positives:

- There are no current UK based Imperial servers with a large player-base.
- We are actively gaining new cadets on the server, often between 5-20 a day. This is a massive improvement from 2020-2023. There will be new players brought into the community who will try both.
- There are members of the community who already play on Imperial servers, this alone shows interest already.
- A chance for MVG to gain new funding, my idea for this is posted below.
- Loads of Imperial content being released since 2021/22 and the closure of Imperial.
- Server would likely contain content from: Rogue One, Bad Batch s1-3, Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Fallen Order, Jedi Survivor, Comics/books, Andor - roleplay possibilities and physical content.
- There are old players and vets who have said they would return for Imperial, however worth mentioning most of the people who ruined the previous versions of Imperial have been banned.
- New possibilities staff and IC for players.
- Clone Wars has had many recent events and storylines with dark twists or darker passive-rp moments, this server would allow for more of that which our player-base finds more fun.
- The server would be realistic/BF2 models due to the lack of CGI Imperial content, therefore allowing players to experience CGI and realism on both servers.
- New maps.
- New event ideas.
- A wide range of regimental possibilities. More opportunities staff and IC across both servers for players. Alternative event times to Clone Wars.
- Inquisitor spinny sabers
- More hyperspace roleplay possibilities for both Fleet and Engineers.


Negatives:

- Garry's Mod has dropped in terms of player count and will likely stick around the 32,000 mark until Summer.
- Old packages will not count towards the server and donations will be required again for roles. It is a personal choice if you wish to update but this helps our community grow.
- There is a chance of the community being split, but to an amount that would roughly be an estimated 60-70+ on each server
- Limited transfer possibilities to allow fairer opportunities for players. The only way to know is to try - if the server is a complete failure, it'll be taken down rather than left hanging like the last Imperial server.
- The command structure will be empty, and will need strict policies in place to avoid it being "lower quality" than CW.

NOTE: The screen shot above is roughly what we'd have to start with, this can change. If the server is able to grow in the future, we will increase the regiments and bring more innovative ideas further down the line. There may be a few changes to this as we go, such as the introduction of Grand Moff Tarkin etc.

Let us know your honest thoughts and comments below, state your opinions or give more ideas. Either way, this is something the Management Team are keen to do after some decisive talks behind the scenes.

I didn't get to experience MVG Imperial at all even though it was available long ago. Would be cool to try and see how it is from the very beginning :)
 
My opinion on how the ranking structure should operate, a vastly improved version of the already reliable ORIGINAL Imperial server that Appo/Davros run, shortly before Ruby turned it into Rebellion RP and plummetted a 50/60 player server into the ground for no reason.

What happend to us not getting a spec ops server because you didn't want to split the community????

I have played on every MVG Server to date.

This is my Take:

Back when MVG was a colossal fucking juggernaught for some reason, we were able to manage this. These days we just about hit server cap. If it were to be made we'd need positions reachable by newcomers as well as people already existing in the community. Since this would potentially heavily split the playerbase of the server, as a lot of us are here simply for the community itself, It's pretty imperative y'all get focusing on finding a second serverbase that can gel well with our current lads.

Personally I think MVG has a unique take on SWRP so far. It's taken somewhat serious, yet the moment you get into an out of character area or something with those people, Everyone's laid back. Both me and Pong have loved that about bein' here and so far it's proved to be rather quite unique somehow. Deffo better than his last server.

If you keep the vibe we currently have it'll offer something unique to the rest of the imperial servers on the SWRP List, and I think that'll get people to stay. Just make sure people in higher ranks get vetted before they get them, otherwise people will go "Wow, this guy sucks" and Dip in like.. Two seconds.

id be interested in imperial if theres actually roles which appeal to me, id be looking for a roaming/specops role on there as going back to a battlestation might cause me to have an aneurysm.

basically give us taskforce 99 and ill have a good time \o.o/

So Imperial Commandos, I swear thats around for Imperial most of the time
