Greetings Troopers, Jedi and Civilians.
To ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness within our ranks, it has been decided that there shall be no equivalency between regiment trooper and naval rank structures. Each shall maintain its distinct hierarchy, tailored to its unique operational requirements and expertise. This division ensures clarity of command and firmly marks in stone that fleet personnel are in charge, not only during battle but when on ship or base as well.
After an extensive meeting attended by esteemed Generals, Admirals, and key military strategists, the decision regarding the division of rank structures between regimental troopers and naval personnel was reached. Every perspective and insight was carefully considered, acknowledging the diverse requirements and operational dynamics of each regiment within the Republic's armed forces. Through rigorous debate and thoughtful analysis, it became evident that maintaining distinct hierarchies would best serve the Republic's interests. This conclusion was not hastily reached; rather, it emerged as the result of thorough deliberation and a commitment to optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our military apparatus. With the input of seasoned leaders from both the commanding officers of our regiments and naval personnel, we are confident that this decision will enhance coordination, clarity of command, and overall strategic prowess in our ongoing mission to safeguard the citizens of our galaxy and ensure victory for the Republic over the Separatist Alliance.
Training ranks within our esteemed fleet shall maintain their current level of authority, with no augmentation unless the individual assumes the role of on-duty officer. It is imperative to maintain discipline and respect within our ranks, and any abuse of authority will not be tolerated. Henceforth, any substantiated cases of abuse will result in immediate dismissal from service. This directive serves to uphold the integrity of our organization and ensure that all members operate with the utmost professionalism and honour.
In addition to the aforementioned directives, it has been decided that the rank of Battalion General shall undergo a significant adjustment in its equivalency within our fleet's hierarchy. Previously considered below that of Rear Admiral, the rank of Battalion General shall now hold equivalent status to Rear Admiral. This elevation is a testament to the invaluable contributions and expertise of our ground forces leaders, recognizing their pivotal role in our combined military operations. This adjustment reflects our commitment to fostering unity and mutual respect among all branches of the Republic's armed forces, ensuring that each member is duly recognized for their merit and capabilities.
Signed,
Office of the Grand Admiral
TLDR:
After speaking with Admirals, Generals and Commanders;
- Fleet and Troopers no longer hold rank equivalencies.
- Fleet's permission are not changing. I.e. an Ensign will still be unable to give orders to a Commander unless OD.
- Generals and Fleet still have rank equivalencies.
- BG is now equal to RA.
The main reason for this is to make sure no SGM, etc, is pulling rank on Fleet.
It also just makes sense for the people in charge not to be beholden to other people's ranks.
